Where to Buy a Star Wars Lightsaber?

/

The Star Wars lightsaber is believed to be the finest weapon ever made.

This is probably because it does not actually exist, but our love for high-tech gadgets promises that no matter how advanced the world becomes, there will always be room for great toys like this one.

The idea of a laser sword was first introduced in the early 1960s by the work of Gerald K.

Smith, who in his novel, called for a device with “a sword-like weapon created by overlapping photons.” The idea was taken up in Star Trek, but it became clear that this concept would not be brought to life using current technology when the first movie came out.

For many years following, there were many rumors in the media that a working lightsaber prototype had been created. Still, people were forced to continue believing that it was merely a myth until 2002 when Mike Baillie from Rubber chicken productions posted a video on his company’s website showing what appeared to be an actual lightsaber.

This newfound hope was dashed years later when George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars and the one who came up with this mind-blowing weapon, revealed in an interview that he had never seriously thought about making a real-life lightsaber. However, many still hope that at some point in time, technology will advance to such a level that such star wars lightsabers are available on this website.

The same way lightsabers are unobtainable; there are no instructions on how to build one. For all intents and purposes, the lightsaber is both a weapon and a tool that would require advanced technology to create. It is important to note that this does not stop individuals from trying to make their own lightsabers.

There are plenty of fan-made videos on YouTube showing how-to demonstrations on making lightsabers powered by everything from lasers to LEDs. Most people prefer the lightsaber that uses a laser, which creates an aluminum tube then attaches two 1″ diodes to opposite sides of it. This design has been tested and found to be both safe and functional.

Some have made lightsabers with LEDs. However, unlike the laser design, which functions using a continuous beam, LED-powered lightsabers have to be turned on and off at specific intervals.
Some prefer to find their materials in junkyards or recycle parts that they find for sale online. Using only these means it may take a few tries before you get it right.

One of the reasons why even advanced technology might not be able to create a lightsaber is the materials used in its construction. For example, lightsabers have been said to have an adjustable handgrip that can also emit a beam capable of impaling opponents and can cut through objects. Any attempt to create such a weapon would first require understanding how it works and what makes it so unique.

Another example is the “lens” of the lightsaber, which projects a long beam of light instead of a short one, as seen in regular flashlights. In addition, the lens must also be calibrated to emit light at specific frequencies. The colors of the lightsaber were another point of fascination. Green, Blue, Red, and Purple are just but a few of these colors that have been seen in various movies. Again this requires knowledge about the color spectrum as well as the other properties available at different frequencies.

Some claim that they have made real-life lightsabers or that they can recreate them. However, none of these claims have been verified. Even the person whose lightsaber was featured in the video has yet to be identified.

So, for now, most people will have to be happy with watching what is available online and hope that one-day real-life lightsabers will exist. If you are among these people, you will be delighted to know that there are many online websites where you can find tutorials on building your lightsaber.

But if for whatever reason, you are not satisfied with the results of these videos or do not have time, some companies sell pre-made lightsabers. So when buying a lightsaber, you can get a chance to own an original replica of the ones used in the Star Wars universe.

Star Wars lightsabers are fictional and cannot be bought in real life unless your wallet is infinite or you are willing to spend more on a replica than the car itself cost. The closest thing that appears to come close is the laser sword which can be constructed by following some DIY instructions online.

Most of these seem to use an aluminum tube with two 1″ diodes attached. It’s said that the only way to know how it works is if you actually build one yourself, which is quite easy. However, this does not mean that lightsabers are nonexistent–on September 20th, 2015, a lightsaber constructed of 3D printed components was auctioned for $20,000.

Since December of 2015, there has been a massive influx in lightsabers being produced commercially. The most common one is called Mecanum wheels which are essentially the wheels on your standard everyday roller skate with special rollers attached to imitate the movement of an actual lightsaber. There are also electronic lightsabers like the ones seen in Star Wars Rebels that are currently for sale. However, taking a look online will show that many of these lightsabers can range from $300-$1,000 or more, which is quite expensive for a toy.

There have been instances where people have actually made lightsabers with real lasers and LED light-up blades, but these have never been publicly sold.
